On the morning of 29th December 2018, the Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia held the press briefing at the Qingdao International Conference Center, the hosting place of the event. The press briefing was jointly held by the BFA and the Qingdao Municipal Government, attended by about 300 representatives from health-related government departments, representatives of relevant countries based in China, representatives from international organizations such as the WHO, Chinese and foreign media and health-related enterprises.
Li Baodong, Secretary-General of BFA, announced that the first conference of the Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia will be held in Qingdao, Shandong Province from June 10 to 12, 2019. Li expressed his gratitude to the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government for their full support for the preparation of the conference, and highly praised Qingdao for its enthusiasm in hosting the event and for the excellent conditions of the conference venue. Sun Jiye, deputy governor of Shandong Province, delivered a speech expressing the full support and sincere hope of the provincial government for the GHF to be held in Qingdao. He required the relevant departments of Qingdao government to make sound preparations to ensure the smooth convening of the conference. Dr. Chan, President of the Global Health Forum and the Emeritus Director-General of WHO, introduced the preparations for the first conference. Liu Jianjun, vice mayor of Qingdao, introduced the preparations the city has made for the conference.
BFA is a non-governmental, non-profit international organization. While striving to promote regional cooperation in Asia and global development, it also pays close attention to major issues related to people's livelihood and actively participates in discussing global health management. BFA announced the establishment of the Global Health Forum (GHF), a high-end platform for global dialog and cooperation. The first GHF conference will conduct in-depth cooperation with international organizations such as the WHO, and will receive strong support from the national health authorities. The conference will propose the slogan of"Health beyond Health". Centering on the topic"Health for All", the conference will discuss hot issues in health-related fields and bring together the wisdom of all parties, hoping to promote global cooperation.
